The weather broke.

I saw robins today.

Greeted neighbors with a smile and friendly word about the beautiful weather.

Everyone seems so happy.

My dog walked with me. 10 years old and still going strong.

Greeted neighbors with a smile and friendly word about the beautiful weather.

Everyone seems so happy.

My dog walked with me. 10 years old and still going strong.

Geese flooded the little pond at the end of the neighborhood – their honks filled my ears and beckoned Jack to chase them.

It is all so so good.

But the best?

I'm physically able to get out and walk/jog again.

My body is still under an attack but it's winning the battle.

And the weather changing over can only help.

It was actually warm enough to be outdoors without it taking your breath away.

Who knew a 40 degree day could feel this good?

After being cooped up in the house over a month, it was long over due…and desperately needed.

My husband cleaned out the garage. We could barely walk through all the boxes and junk and now I can actually see the floor!

After playing with the children – listening to them squeal with joy, running around, breathing in the cool air – I did this… alone, and for a long time.

And, Oh-my-God did it feel so good.

So, so good.

I welcomed the burn and endorphins like long lost friends.

The smell of fireplaces burning, mixed with the crisp air made my heart dance.

My breathing was fast, my heart was pumping, my muscles so excited to be used again.

My mood lifted, I felt such peace and joy and love. Nature does it to me every time.

I didn't even care that my nose was cold and that the front's of my legs felt like that 'wet' feeling when the cold sets in…

I was floating on a healthy high.

I miss it already!

The mere fact that I'm putting down a long list of physical goals for this upcoming year is exciting in itself. I've been sick with this yeast beast crud for so long that it has all but stolen my active life from me.

Now that I'm on the road to healing myself through a healthy eating and living lifestyle, I know without a shadow of a doubt that I can now set and reach the physical goals I've been dreaming about for years.

Not just to keep myself accountable, but also to keep track of everything I am aiming for this year I'm writing them down for everyone to see. I hope these might inspire you, too.

2010 Physical Goals

Run 3k without stopping (or passing out!) by the end of the year. I'd prefer this to happen by September, though I don't know if that is feasible since I'm still healing my body from this Candida.

Put two little ones in a jogging stroller and jog with them at least once per week by the end of the year.

Buy a bike for myself and my husband and ride together once per week. This will happen as soon as the weather improves and we have money to purchase a couple bikes.

Indoor rock wall climb for the first time and if I like it, then do it often or try real rock climbing.

Walk every day. (except the days that I'm doing other strenuous exercise)

Drop 35 pounds.

I realize this looks like a lot to chew off in one year. There are two reasons I'm jotting down all these loft goals.

1. I remember how amazing I felt 3 years ago when I kicked the yeast beast. I had more energy than I could handle. I got up at the crack of dawn every day, put two kiddos in a double stroller and hiked around our neighborhood. I say hike because it's literally like a hike with the steep hills I must travel. I would then use my energy the rest of the day to keep house, play with the kids, run errands, do other fun physical activities with my kids, run my business and so forth. At the end of the day I'd go alone, or take the dog, or take the kids again and hike the neighborhood again. And yet I still had energy to burn. I'm not only expecting the same results this time around, I'm greatly looking forward to it.

2. I want to try many different types of exercise in order to decide which of them I enjoy the most. I know not everything I try I'll like enough to keep up. My goal is to, at the very least, keep up one or two of the activities on a weekly basis. There are actually more physical activities I'd like to add to this list, but I'll edit the list as I go — if need be.

2010 is going to be a great year. And the reason I know this is because I'm going to make it a good year. A great year. I'm taking control of my health and life and future instead of letting it all pass by and only dreaming about it.

What are your health goals for 2010?
