Mary and Me

I hit 40 weeks this Sunday. Boy and I beat. I hadn't been feeling really uncomfortable and exhausted until I hit this week. Now I'm officially 100% ready to meet this little/big guy!

With Christmas being yesterday I can't help but wonder how Mary felt in her pregnancy. Since she was carrying our Lord and Savior did she have it easier or was she just as big and uncomfortable and I am right now?

I also can't help but be in awe of how similar we Mom's are to her. I'm sure she felt all the same joy and elation when she held her son for the first time. Her son was something special for the whole world, but I'm sure when she looked at his tiny little face and hands she just saw her beautiful baby boy.

The baby that she'd nurse, hold, comfort, love and nurture just like I've done with my boys and will do with this new one. Gives me chills to think about her and Jesus as a baby.

Will It Or Won't It?

I'm 38 weeks this week. And now every day could potentially be "go day". Will this be the last picture I get to take of my belly? Will he come this week? Will he come before Christmas? Or the New Year? I just don't know. So I will relish each picture I do take from here on out because it could be the last.

Here's my bump at 38 weeks in the dress.

Wrapped In Cozzzzy Fuzz

Sometimes a girl just needs a new pair of cozy PJ's and fuzzy socks!

Every time I have a baby I always buy a few new pairs of cozy PJ's for my hospital stay. It makes me feel like I'm on a "trip" of sorts. Plus it's always fun to go shopping.

My Mom ended up surprising me with these tonight…don't they just look like heaven in the form of PJ's and socks? I'm tempted to wear them now but I keep reminding myself it won't be much longer at all before I'm actually in them at the hosp.

The Games We Play

Setting the scene:

Mommy sitting in the rocking recliner with little boy Z's squished in next to her. Baby D kicked hard against her belly and landed his "blow" on Zboy arm. Z looked at her belly and gave one of the meanest scowls Mommy's seen him give. Already they fight

Setting the scene:

Mommy in bed watching TV, drinking OJ and trying to relax. Baby D more active than ever. Almost to the point where Mommy swore there were two in there. He kept pushing his foot out hard againts her belly and as he would Mommy would tickle and poke his foot. He'd then bring his foot back in for a few seconds and then do it again. They played this game for a long while.

Setting the scene:

Mommy lifts up shirt to expose the big round belly where Baby D is being housed (lol) and says "Look Z, there's a baby in there". To which Z shakes his head no and pulls my shirt down.

Setting the scene:

Big boy N sleeps with and takes care of his two little baby dolls. One named D and one named Violet (what we would have named the baby if he were a girl) and explains all of the ways he's going to help Mommy with the new baby. He is going to change his diapers, clothes, wrap him in a blanket, put him down for a nap, give him a bath and so on.

Not much longer until the baby is here…
