This week has been a little unnerving.

I've started my antibiotic treatment for the Lyme disease that has been playing house in my body for so long.

It aint easy.

When killing off this bacteria you often experience a worsening of your symptoms before you get better. It's from the bacteria that is being killed and the toxins it's leaving behind.

As you can possibly imagine that isn't fun or easy and, at times, has even become scary.

But I hang on for the ride.

At least now I experience much needed hope.

I now know why the pain and fatigue have been so present in my body for so long, and how to begin getting rid of it all, getting back to me once again.

I took a picture of the corn field next door.

I edited it to my eyes delight.

It brought me some pleasure, I hope it does the same for you.

I thank God for giving me an appreciative eye for His beauty. Not only does it draw me closer to Him, but it also fills my being with much pleasure…much, much.

{how could i not look at nature and think of Him and thank Him for it every single day?}

Today I spent far too much time in front of the television taking it easy.

Really, I must admit, I wasn't as much taking it easy as I was doing my best to make it through the symptoms that slammed my body after the antibiotic this morning.

That tiny white pill packs a powerful punch.

We watched a lot of the Billy the Exterminator marathon on A&E today.

The boys were intrigued by the wild animals and why the Billy Man was saving everything except the wasps.

I walked past my two older boys room tonight and caught a glimpse of them in the same bed, watching tonight's new episode of Billy the Exterminator.

Made my cheeks hurt from grinning.

And then, I joined them.

Sweet ending to another day.

Another day closer to my full recovery.

Another day further away from the hell of not knowing what, why, when, how, if…

Tonight.

Tonight I rest in the Lord's arms, for I need His comforting embrace.

That warm, sweet, tender embrace I've come to know and need and love so much.

A love so tender… an embrace equally so.

You Capture: Year In Review

I just posted a series of my favorite photo's of last year. You can find them here, and here, and here, and here. But our sweet {adorably pregnant} Beth is doing a year end photo theme for You Capture. So, of course I had to jump in on the fun. After all, I took thousands of photo's last year!

These are very random – but are some of my most favorite photo's of the year. {Next to my kids anyway!}

{I worked hard to capture that little "rain drop" on the flowers petal and it just made my heart skip when I saw the finished product.}

{One of my first pictures with the DLSR was this one of my middle sons little foot in the sand. Still love it!}

{I just love the colors and textures and abstractness of this shot.}

{My baby holding onto the car seat. Something was so romantic and magical about this to me.}

{My most recent photo. It got the most 'praise' out of every other photo I've taken and published. I do love it. How soft and lovely. The colors and all. Though not my favorite, it is right up in there!}

In Pictures: My Favorites

Found this little broken down doll leg on the side of the road while walking with the kids. Some would think it was set up, but it really wasn't! Something about it being slightly morbid intrigues me.

There are a few self portraits I actually like enough to repost. This is one. I like how much emotion is flowing through my eye, even though you can barely see me.

And another self portraits where most of my face is hidden, with only one eye showing, and yet so much emotion shows through. I really like self portraits that aren't necessarily "beautiful" or conventional.

Lollipop Pete makes me happy. I know, I know. He is scary and freaky and a little bit over the top, but I had so much fun finding ways to pose him and shoot him to change up his look.

You've seen this one a few times and it's no surprise it's one of my favorites. Funny thing is, this picture was one taken early on in my photography journey. Yet it is a favorite of mine.

My first picture with my new 50mm lens showing off the depth of field it provides. I don't know. I just really like it.

This one takes me back to a time and place. I look at it and remember what I was doing that evening. It was in the summer, I had just taken a long walk with my dog and the sky was just lit up like it was on fire. I was in total awe through the walk. Soaking it all in. I wish I could relive that night. It was that amazing.

I never thought I'd like a close up of my face. I've never been a huge fan of close up pictures with my face. I have a, lets just say it, large nose and face and that's usually all I see. But this time I see beautiful, happy, joyful eyes and lovely lips. And that feels good to see that.

{these are my misc. favorites. i already posted the best pictures of my children in previous posts. i didn't want anyone to think i didn't think my children were my best shots of the year if they only read this post.}

In Pictures: Babyd

There's nothing quite like a baby in pictures. I often think camera's were made just for taking thousands of pictures of babies. They're beautiful and cute and funny and lovely and chubby and pure delightful eye candy!

And of course I feel like my baby Dash is all of those things and more. As my Nicky used to say, "baby d is the cutest baby on all the seven seas." No idea where that came from, but I'll never forget Nicky saying that every single day when baby d was younger.

Here are several of my favorite pictures of Dash.

Favorites: his eye lashes, big beautiful eyes and those gaped front teeth! Oh squeal.
