I see a lot of value in him
Today I took Zane i
n to see a doctor for his tummy.
I'd been to this doctor for my own yeast and health concerns before and knew he'd be able to help us figure it all out.
He spent almost an hour with us, went over all my notes, listened to me go on and on and on and was the farthest from blowing me off as you can get. Unlike the previous PED I took Zane to see.
He mentioned that my little guy's tummy was just crying out in distress. Finally, a doctor who cared and understood and saw what I have seen all along.
He's been diagnosed allergic to corn and its bi-products – dairy – he has a yeast problem {I knew this but felt like I needed a doctor to confirm it} and parasites {gross!}.
The good news:
We can rid him of the yeast and the parasites {our doctor said could have been from the dogs or from his food and that it actually isn't that uncommon… just most people are never diagnosed with it. Still… very gross and creepy to think about.} with diet and supplements/medicines. I know it won't be easy because he is VERY picky, but I am determined to get him well and I won't cave in when he wants something that is bad for him and holds no {or very little} nutritional value.
I don't know if he'll ever outgrow his corn and dairy allergies, but I'm willing to bet they'll, at the very least, lighten up once we get the Candida under control. Because Candida can cause you to be sensitive to foods.
When I went on the diet over two years ago I found out I was sensitive to yeast, sugar, dairy, corn and even to chemicals in my makeup. I got my yeast under control and all those sensitivities went away. {I got weak, ate badly and it all came back though. I'm in the process of defeating the yeast beast with my son.}
The bad news – or the not so pleasant news: This isn't going to be easy. It's going to take time. And a lot of patience and persistence on my part. A lot of changed for my little guy to not only get used to but to also embrace.
The best news: I wasn't blown off. We didn't have eyes rolling at us. We weren't shooed out of the office and told nothing was wrong. We were listened to. He cared about my son and his problems and in helping us help Zane.
Hooray for medical professionals who actually take the time to listen, and care, and understand foods and yeasts and things that go bump in the night, eating up your gut and health!
{I'm launching a new blog soon – it'll be all about Candida – will not only chronicle our journey to becoming the healthy beings God created us to be, but will also be very educational for those of you who need to know more about yeast. My Mom and I are also joint venturing on a project related to this topic. Can't wait to share those details with you soon.}

Yay! I'm so glad y'all were able to see a good doc. Good luck with the new diet plan. I'm super interested in your new blog. I definitely have yeast issues, and although, I've found lots of ways to battle the beast, I'm always looking for more!

Good doctors are so incredibly hard to come by, I have been doc hopping and still can't find one that I can trust. We are very limited b/c of our health care system and where we live.

I'm glad you got a DR that would listen to you and you received answers. Which allergy test did they do on him, the blood or the needle prick in the back? L had the needle prick in the back and they do it so many times on the back, it just broke my little heart. At least we got answers though to what she was allergic to that would help keep her Asthma somewhat under control more.

So glad you found a good Doc to take your son to.
I'm interested in the Candida blog… my sister-in-law is all about getting rid of Candida, but she goes really over the top with everything she does so we all kinda tune her out…
I'm interested in hearing someone else talk about candida – because I really do want what is best for us.

I'm glad you found a dr you could trust and give you some answers and some hope. I have to add I have noticed a few mom's online that make bento lunches to help with children who have allergy problems. I have been doing them because my son, who is a picky eater, will actually eat more if I use this style of cute lunches. And he eats healthier. http://remleml.com/thesublurbs is one blog I have seen usingthis method and she has some links for other bento making moms. HTH
I am so extremely happy for you that you found a doc to listen and an answer to help heal your sweet boy! I can not wait to hear all about your journey and encourage you in your struggles!
