Not Your Typical Weight Loss Picture
It's been a couple of weeks since I declared my mission to drop weight and get healthier. And in that time I've done just that. I've encountered a couple of slips ups here and there, but over all I'm quite pleased with my results.
As often as possibl
e I get out on my own for a vigorous hike with my dog. Because my husband works a lot I'm unable to do this as much as I'd like, but on those days I take my boys for a walk in the neighborhood or do yoga.
I'm back on my Candida diet, which means little to no carbs. The carbs I get are from vegetables. I have to do this in order to regain my health. I'm not doing it as some extreme way to lose weight. That isn't my style. If you are curious as to what Candida is, please read through my archives.
I'm drinking a lot of water and getting a nice amount of healthy fats from coconut oil, real butter {yep!}, evoo and fish oil. This is per my Candida diet and it helps me fuel my body since I'm getting so few carbs.
I'm feeling the difference in my health, my energy, my drive… I'm seeing it in my hair and skin. I've lost {last I checked} 9 pounds. Believe it or not, I don't weigh myself every day. I find it counter-productive – as this is about health and not what the scale says. My clothes are fitting looser and I feel great, that's what matters most.
Not your typical weight loss picture – I'm including a shot of me today outside in the cool fall breeze. The sun was bouncing off my hair and showing off so beautifully how silky and shiny it is now that I'm eating {and drinking} healthy. Though it isn't impossible for my hair to look shiny {it just naturally does that when I'm feeding my body correctly}, it hasn't felt this smooth and silky in a long while.

I'm feeling good, ladies. Feeling good. And I've only just begun.

Good for you! I'm wishing you well. I'm carrying around 33 weeks of fetus, so my weight loss is on hold for a couple more months.
By the way, you have a blog award waiting for you at my blog: http://katinasharp.blogspot.com
Check it out if you get the chance!
Awesome stuff Nell! Beautiful pic too. Congrats on your weight loss already
Awesome! Way to go Girlfriend… doesn't it feel so great to make healthy choices?
Your hair looks quite lovely!
I recently started taking calcium supplements with Vit D – they've made a big difference in my energy level. And I started taking fish oil, hopefully to enhance my brain function – since thats been pretty poor the last year or so.
Glad to know I'm not the only one who rarely weighs herslef, I check with my clothing fit too.
Good going – keep up the good work!
My sister-in-law and her family have been doing the candida diet for a couple of years – good luck to you as you continue on this journey!
Congratulations! Great picture of you enjoying the fall.
Great job, Nell! You are an inspiration for me to get back on track with my weight loss. Every once in a while I need a little kick in the butt! Thanks!
you look wonderful. good for you for taking care of yourself!
do u know if there's a candida diet online? i'm looking for guidelines on what to eat/what to avoid. thanks!
So glad to hear you're feeling good. You look good too but you always do. So pretty! Keep up the great healthy lifestyle.
You're looking good too. And you're right – your hair looks healthy and silky and gorgeous.
I don't weigh myself daily either…or even weekly. Like you, I judge my fitness level by my cardiovascular endurance, my muscle tone, the way my clothes fit, and…the way I feel.
Yay!! Glad you're feeling healthier. That's the best part of losing weight!
Your hair really does look beautiful! And can I say how inspiring this post is? I need to follow your example and take better care of myself, my hair (and everything else, lol) could use the boost!
Congratulations Nell. Love the picture.
Congrats on the weight loss. I have been able to lose weight in the past by watching my carb intake too!
Good luck on your goal!
