Holding Tight
Today I awoke to a new day, a day filled with hope and promise. A day very unlike this day three years ago.
Today I packed up my precious cargo, drove down to pick up my other precious cargo, traveled to a park, and played in the rain.
My Mother and I chased the boys around the playground, slid down the slides with them, pushed them on the swings, laughed, smiled, and watched as the weather turned dark and gloomy.
Oh how the weather was so fitting for the day. Dark, rainy, gloomy, and at times scary. And yet even with the scariness of the darkness we found the light, and the fun, and the joy, and the love.
Three years ago today I was carrying my middle son in my belly as I walked into the hospital, checked into intensive care, was met by my step-dad, and saw her… laying there, on the bed, hooked to machine after machine…looking…well… dead, gone, not there.
Three years ago today my Mother tried to end her life. But God didn't let her. And it has been a rough ride for her, for us, for everyone who loves her, but we're all still here…holding on, tight, very tight.

I am so glad that you were able to share this dark and rainy day with her, because even with the bad weather at least she was there to see it with you. I pray that she will continue to be well.
