he wasn't too sure

It didn't come easily for him. This new baby thing. He wasn't too sure about his feelings towards this new little thing that took over his life. And he wasn't about to make it easy on this new creature.

He'd ignore the baby. He'd run away from the new baby. He'd sit miles away from the new baby. He wouldn't smile at the new baby, or touch the new baby, and would cry if we got the baby too close.

And then something happened. Maybe he realized the baby wasn't going anywhere and he needed to accept it. Or maybe he fell in love with this new little being, that smiled at his every word, and laughed at his silliness.

Whatever happened, whatever triggered it… it doesn't really matter. Now, well, you can see for yourself.

coming together

So sweet. My older son was the same, wasn't terribly interested in his little brother for a few months. Now at 6 and 31/2 they are best buddies…well…when they aren't trying to destroy eachother!

This is exactly the same way my now 4 year old son reacted when his baby brother Kyle was born. It took a good few months before he came around – and then he was kissing him, playing with him, and all that good stuff.

I think he was a bit disgruntled that he got pushed out of his "baby" spot, lol!

Brotherly love. So sweet. I'm sure they'll be the best of friends as Dash gets older.

That's what I keep telling my 2-year-old about her baby sister, "She's your best friend and she loves you very much." I think my brainwashing/encouragement is working. LOL. She now often will spontaneously say, "I LOVE this baby!" and "she's my BEST friend!" :)
