Something Wonderful Happened

Photobucket

Something unexpected happened when we brought babyD into the world. Something that has made my days and night's so much sweeter.

His birth and presence in our home has caused me to appreciate and love our other two boys even more than before. I've found a new found love and admiration for each of my older boys for what makes them unique and beautiful human beings.

I'm soaking it all in and loving every moment of it.

What about you? When you brought another new baby into your family did it affect how you felt about your other kids too?

Bringing home Ben made me appreciate how very big and capable AJ had become-there was so much he could do that I didn't quite appreciate until I saw him next to a newborn.

I am always struck by how big my older kids look. How big and hard their heads are all of a sudden. I mean, one day they are little babies and then the next day, next to a newborn, they are these big giants with loud voices and big heads. I mean I still loved them but wow, they look so grown up all of a sudden.

What a cool photo. I love how everyone is "distracted" (the oldest is playing a video game, the middle child is looking over at the youngest, and the youngest is just sleeping right through it).

I can't wait to see what new "dynamic" is created in our family when baby #2 makes her debut in March.

Absolutely. :)
When Brennan was born (just 1 week after Aidan turned 3), I saw Aidan like a whole new person. I was amazed and so touched by his pride in being a big brother, and all he naturally did to help out.
I found I missed the time w/ just him-at first feeling like I wasn't catching up-but after about a month I found my nitch for getting in my "Aidan time", and it all balanced out.

It's truly beautiful to watch your children become a big brother or sister. :)

I am so happy for you!
