Touched Me – Week One

I’m not usually big into daily or weekly themed features on a blog. But the type that always interest me are a collection of what’s been going on around the blogosphere. Well, let’s face it with 5 Minutes for Mom and Metropolitan Mama’s weekly posts I didn't need to fill the exact same need.

However, what I like to see are posts on other Mom blogs about something important, inspiring, funny or touching that another Mom blogged about. It keeps me from missing something really important but also gives me a peak into what that particular blogger feels is touching or made her smile.

So, as you’ve guessed it that is what I’ll be doing each week. A small collection of my favorite blog posts from other blogs. Silly cute ones that made me smile. Deep thought provoking ones that made me think. Anything that really stood out to me. Sound good?

This week these Mom bloggers touched me in the following ways:

I Cried the Day I Bought My Plane Ticket for BlogHer… - by Stephanie of Metropolitan Mama. As I wrote in my comment to her, her words were so well written that it felt like I was living the emotion she was feeling. Her deep pure love for her daughter pours off the computer screen right into your heart. It’s a must read!

Jen Gets World’s Worst Mom Award – by Jen of One Moms World. She writes about an experience this week where her daughter crashed her bike. In that split second of seeing her daughters bike out of control, the fear filtering into the air and her heart beating out of her chest she felt such overwhelming guilt. You know the special kind only we Mom’s seem to have? Share in her moment and let her know we’re all been there before.

Judy Tired – by Steph of Adventures in Baby wearing. Although I venture to guess most of you have read this post, I didn’t take on this weekly feature to share with you posts I didn’t think you had seen before…although that would be nice. I did so to share what touched me that week. And this post really did. I could relate so much to this post that it almost felt like I had written. This very day I’m not feeling “Judy tired”, but I’ve felt it before and will feel it again. What Mom hasn’t? Her honesty was refreshing to read. If you’re a Mom (and you likely are) you want to read this post.

Cool off with Homemade Popsicles – by Tiffany of Nature Moms made me drool. After I had wiped the drool off my face I proceeded to drool again and again and again. Tell me these don’t just sound like a tasty treat for your taste buds!

That wraps it up for this first week. Not necessarily that I ran out of posts that touched me, but more that the little boy tugging at me to fix dinner is calling this blog post finished! See you again next week for another "Touched Me" round up.
