He said it. He really, really said it! Four little words strung into a sentence. Little Nick is 3 years of age & last week was his very first sentence. Music to my ears.
Let me give you the play by play. There I lay, blanket over my eyes, nursing one of the worst migraines ever I felt.
Nicky kept trying to get my attention. After I explained to him that Mommy had a boo-boo. He said “boo boo”. I said, “yes, boo boo”.
Out of his little mouth comes “Dada, Mama Boo Boo.” I just about fell off the couch. Instantly, my migraine pain seemed very insignificant. Off came the blanket, up shot the mommy, and out came the gushing love from my mouth.
Daddy and I just sat there in awe. So happy. So Proud. So excited. I revel in his new words and new found love of speaking. He does has a long ways to go and he’s lined up for therapy with the school this Fall, but his progress thusfar has been astonishing!
I know he will flourish in therapy. I try not to think about everything that is to come and just live in all the little moments of now. But, I must confess to you that I am counting down the days when I hear him say “I love you mommy”.
Dadda, Mama Boo, Boo. The sweetest words strung into a sentence I’ve ever heard.

This is my great grandmother - better known as my Granny. She was the sweetest soul I’ve ever know. I know many people say this of their grandparents, but this goes beyond just saying it. There was something truly special about her. I’ve never met another woman like her. And I miss her terribly. She’s been in Heaven for 5 years and I know she is loving life up there.
For the past several years she had told everyone she was ready to go home and be with Jesus. To be reuinted with the love of her life, who had passed 20 years prior. Although I do know she is happy I still can’t help but miss her. I miss deep smile that seemed to come straight from her soul. I miss her smell. I miss her touch. Her laugh. Her love. I wish my boys could have met her on this earth.
I still have fond memories I’ll hold dear for the rest of my life. Playing ’hide the thimble’, staying up all night long talking, riding the bus to the mall, getting special treats, swinging around in her old broken down swivel chair, eating at Denny’s, and just the love she surrounded her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids with.
God made such a special person when he made her. Such a strong faithful woman. One that never strayed from her beliefs and her convictions. Even in the last months of her life when pains and embarrassment were an everyday occurance…she never let go of her faith and deep love.
I’ll miss her for the rest of my life. I somehow know that when my time on earth is up she’ll be the one to greet me in Heaven.
Join me in Throwback Thursday!

My son loves babies right now. Anytime he sees a baby or one is mentioned he’ll tell me how many babies he wants. I whipped my camera out this time to capture his answer…I can’t help but giggle, but my husband turns white.
He sees nothing funny about 6 kids. hehe

(Yes, he dressed himself. He has the fashion sense of his father.)

Hey there fellow mom blogger. Are you a bit of a blog reading addict like me? I can’t seem to get enough. Everything in moderation, I know.
I never let my blog addiction interfere with my mothering, but I have to admit to you that reading mom blogs, blogging on my own, and feeling that connection really helps keep me sane!
I greatly enjoy the connections and fun that mom blogs bring into my daily life. It’s a nice little break in my day to catch up with my mom friends online.
What about you? If you’re a blog addict please do tell why that is. What do you get out of it?

While out driving home from a typical day shopping with my boys, I noticed a fast moving motercycle coming up beside me. Before I knew it the motercycle was gone, zipping down the highway, wheeving in and out of traffic. The typical reaction from most people (and, even from me normally) may have been to yell out for this yahoo to slow down or to utter how they hope everyone around him stays safe.
Something was different about this particular day, this particular speeding motercycle. He literally had to be driving at least 100 mph. Before I even knew what was happening I opened my mouth and began to pray. I literally became overwhelmed with emotion. The words just poured out praying for his safety, to get him home safe to a family or friends that love him, and to keep everyone safe around him.
I’ve prayed for others on the road before, but nothing like this. It really felt like it was coming straight from God. Almost as though I wasn’t in control. I’ve thought about the man on the motercycle a few times since this happened and I hope my prayers wrapped around him and kept him safe. I do hope he realizes how deadly it can be to go that fast on a motercycle…or any vehicle for that matter.
It was such a powerful experience I felt like I needed to share.

Tiffany, over at NatureMoms Blog posted this video awhile back. It was quite disturbing, but not completly surprising .. sadly. If you’ve been on the fence about whether you should drink organic milk this might help make your mind up.
***Well, for some reason the video won’t play in my blog post so you’ll have to click this link in order to go watch it…****
And, 5 minutes for mom has a great contest going with horizon organics to give someone $300.00 worth of free organic milk products if you want to get your start with organic dairy! Just go to the 5 minutes for mom blog and follow their directions.

I just got done watching “The View” and preggers Elizabeth (6 months along) lifted her shirt and showed her pregnant belly. It seemed as those it were on a whim and that the other ladies didn’t know it was going to happen. It was a super cute belly and gave me warm fuzzies to see it. I love pregnant belly’s.
But, it seemed as though Barbara wasn’t really that pleased…maybe she was just in shock? At the end of the program she was asking what Elizabeths husband was going to think of her showing her belly. It just seems odd to me that it was made into a bigger deal than it should have been.
What is the problem with showing a pregnant belly? Maybe there are still people who are turned off by that, but I simply think it’s beautiful to see a woman growing a life inside her belly.
What are your opinions on this topic? Post a comment and let me know.
(that picture is of me when i was pregnant with my second baby…last year)
