What A Difference Eating Healthy Has Made!

I was looking through pictures today (on my computer…better organized on my computer than in my closet lol) and I happened upon a photo of me before I started my health diet.

I know I've lost a lot of weight. I'm in a size I haven't been in for years. I feel more fit. My scale says I've dropped 28 pounds. But, until I saw the picture I don't think I realized the big change in my body!

6 weeks ago I began a strict diet for my Candida overgrowth. It cuts out dairy, wheat, yeast, sugar…..I can have fresh organic meat, eggs, and lots of veggies…oh, and water ;) I'm also out walking nearly everyday pushing my two kids in the double stroller.

Not only has the diet made me feel physically better (because it's working at killing off this overgrowth), but it has opened my eyes to living a healthier lifestyle. Not only does it show in my health and my body, but in my family as well. Everyone is healthier and I finally feel like the mom I knew I needed to be.

It isn't a lot of fun. I do miss a lot of the foods I ate too much of, but whenever I miss them I just remember how bad I felt when I ate those foods.

So, here is the "tada" moment….drum roll please….

WTG Nell… I can really see the progress. So awesome. Keep up the good work and glad the whole family is sharing on the healthy eating experience. It really is great when the whole family gets involved :)

You, my friend, look AMAZING!

We're going through something similar ourselves. We always thought we ate pretty healthy — we're vegetarians… yada yada.

Recently we found out my husband has diabetes. We have to completely re- evaluate our diet. Many MORE veggies, much fewer carbs.

It's the same thing — the whole family is benefitting from the change.

How do you feel? What are the biggest differences you notice? Less tired?

Congratulations!

Thanks for all the kudos ladies! I'm onto week 7 and sometimes it feels like I've been on this diet for years. LOL

Lori, I'm sorry hubby has diabetes. That is no fun at all :( But, one of the hidden blessings is the whole family will benefit from the new diet. I do wish him the best and hope that he is able to control it well.

I feel pretty good over all. I'm no where near totally healthy, but I've come a long way in 7 weeks. I can honestly tell when I've had too much rice though. It is a limit food and if I don't stick to that then I feel symptoms coming on again.

Mostly I'd say I feel more even tempered, less tired, less brain fog, easier time concentrating, no muscle aches or weekness…etc.

I've got many symptoms still, but they'll ease off eventually I know. They say for every year you've been sick it takes a month to heal so I'll be on this diet for awhile longer yet.

I'm looking forward to adding SOME fruit and carbs on occasion, but I'll never go back to eating the way I used to.

Look at you! You look great! :) So glad the diet is working for you and improving not only the overgrowth but your health in general. I'm looking at a new diet plan too and I'm scared, but I love seeing results that others have had. You really do look GREAT!
